AI Literacy for educators and trainers
In the shifting landscape of education and training, a new contender has appeared - Artificial Intelligence (AI). This course will cover what it is, what it isn’t, and how to use it responsibly. Created in partnership with AVPN and the Melbourne University Centre for AI and Digital Ethics (CAIDE), this is the ultimate introduction to ethical AI literacy.

Learning intentions
You will learn:
- What is AI?
- What are the ethical considerations of using AI?
- How to build your AI literacy
Course time
This course, including optional practical activities, is expected to take up to 3 hours. You can do it in one session or break it up over a few weeks. You will have ongoing access.
Accreditation
This course is mapped to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- 6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice: Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice, targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
- 3.4 Select and use resources: Select and/or create and use a range of resources, including ICT, to engage students in their learning.
- 4.5 Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically: Incorporate strategies to promote the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in learning and teaching.
- 7.1 Meet professional ethics and responsibilities: Meet codes of ethics and conduct established by regulatory authorities, systems and schools.
